11.01.2007 - South Port of Paldiski unloaded 48,000 cars in 2006.
The South Port of Paldiski, a holding of the state-owned Tallinna Sadam (Port of Tallinn), unloaded 47,945 new passenger cars during 2006, which is by 78 percent more than in the year before.

The same increase will be expected this year. The port's market share in the unloading of new cars in Estonia during the year was more than 70 percent.

The new vehicles are shipped to South Port of Paldiski on Transfennica, Mann Lines and KESS liner vessels and PCC vessels. From Paldiski the cars are taken to the Baltic and Russian markets on truck trailers or by rail.

There are three car terminals operating in the South Port of Paldiski. All the vehicles are discharged by ESTEVE Terminal AS, who is at the same time the largest warehouse keeper in the port.

ESTEVE Terminal has more than 14 ha of open warehouse area and 6 railway lines. In the nearest future the construction of the additional vehicles’ open warehouse of 3,5 ha will be finished.

ESTEVE Terminal is terms of cargo volumes handled the second largest stevedore company in Estonia, handling different types of cargo.

ESTEVE Terminal was founded in 1997 and belongs to Baltic Maritime Logistics Group AS group of companies.
