09.04.2009 - Avelon Group Oy sold its majority shareholding in Avelon OÜ and Avelon PDI Services OÜ to Autolink Baltics AS.

Avelon Group Oy has on April 8, 2009 sold its majority shareholding in Avelon OÜ and Avelon PDI Services OÜ including the terminal operations in Paldiski to the other shareholder Autolink Baltics AS, a joint venture between Norwegian vehicle logistics company Autolink Group AS and Estonian based Baltic Maritime Logistics Group AS.

Avelon Group started the operations in Paldiski in 2005. The Estonian operations represented in 2008 approximately two percent of Avelon Group's activities in vehicle logistics.

Avelon Group and Autolink Baltics reached the agreement as a mutually beneficial and profitable solution. Through an agreement between the parties Avelon will continue to serve its clients with unchanged services in Estonia in co-operation with Autolink Baltics.

After the divestment of the Baltic operations Avelon Group will focus on its core markets in Finland and Sweden as well as transit business to Russia and the CIS countries.

Autolink Group AS will make its next step in broadening its presence and customer base in the Baltic market and becoming the market leader in the Baltic countries. The expansion is also strengthening its foundation in the transit market into Russia and CIS.

According to the agreement, Avelon PDI Services will operate under a new business name, Autolink PDI Services, continuing to serve its present customers. Avelon OÜ will be renamed Autolink Holding OÜ.
